Annelise H. Sullivan, DDS, MS

Meet Dr. Sullivan
As a medical professional, I feel it is both my duty and my privilege to help others. I especially enjoy helping young people who are just beginning to deal with some of life's challenges. I decided to dedicate my professional life to orthodontics because brilliant and healthy smiles can overcome shyness and self-consciousness, improving self-esteem. Healthy self-confidence is crucial for success in any endeavor; scholastic, occupational, and social. As a young teen, I experienced a huge benefit from my own orthodontic treatment, thus I am particularly sensitive to the great effect orthodontic treatment can produce and truly feel orthodontics is my calling.
I believe that it is important to be a good person in all I do. To me, this means treating others as I would like to be treated and always keeping an open mind. I am a dedicated orthodontist who will provide nothing but the best treatments. I have the opportunity to meet new people every day. Interacting with a variety of people makes my world rich and rewarding. I find myself learning from every person who enters my life. Each person is an individual, and there is no formula that fits everyone. Likewise, each orthodontic patient is a unique case who deserves unique and individualized diagnosis and treatment.
This is why one-on-one interviews are vital to providing good orthodontics. I treat our patients as people first. The mouth is vital to a person's overall being. It influences self-perception and one's general health. Good oral health has recently been found to have great effect on such important organs as the heart. I individualize each treatment based on sound understanding of each person and what he or she wants to achieve.

In the Office
My team works together like a well-oiled machine! They know what instruments I need before I ask for them, and their clinical judgment is spot-on. They have great inter-personal relationships with each other and with our patients and strive to make everyone feel at ease in the office. They are well-versed in orthodontic coverage and always maximize patients' insurance benefits.
Community Involvement
It is important to me to be an active, contributing member of the community. I have enjoyed volunteering in different community projects since I was young, both at home and while away at school. Our communities give us roots. One of my favorite dental outreach programs is "Give Kids a Smile". It is very cool to have professional talents I can use to enrich my community. I also participated in fundraising for the Children's Court Appointed Special Advocates program. I look forward to becoming a contributing member of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights area and getting involved in local programs.
Outside the Office
I am a native of Lakewood, OH, but have lived and worked in Sidney, OH, for the last two years. I am very happy to be moving back to Northeast Ohio with my husband, Ryan, a professional civil engineer. Ryan and I met in college, where we had an engineering math class together, and have been happily married since 2007. We are currently looking to make our move permanent by buying a house in this beautiful area. My entire family lives nearby and our pets love it here. We have two furry babies – a Silky Terrier/Toy Poodle mix named Wink and a grey, tiger-striped cat named Pancake. They are best friends, so whoever made up the phrase "fighting like cats and dogs" must not have seen a pair like these two.
I love the arts. I play the cello and piano and enjoy all kinds of music and concerts. I look forward to having time to join a community orchestra. I like to dance and take ballet classes. To relax, I do yoga. Ryan and I also like to travel, especially around national parks. Feel free to suggest some great places Ryan and I can visit!
